求助：GMAT考了四次，top10还有戏吗？

我的意思是，不考虑其他背景，单纯从考了四次才上700（740）这一点，会不会成为被admission抛弃的理由呢？前三次都是600多，有两次是一年以前考的。

貌似看到以前有人说过，2-3次还勉强acceptable, 5次以上就可以去死了。那4次呢。。。唉，都是以前自以为是、轻率决定的苦果啊。。。

或者，需要一个强有力的GPA，没准可以从一定意义上弥补之？

虽说现在纠结于此也没有意义，但还是希望大家给我些意见，至少可以让我在申请学校上有所侧重。谢谢大家了。

np.......I think it will only show the last three times during the five

years....if i didn't remember it wrong.........

No. The admission feels that, you're a person seeking continous self-improvement and never step back. Because many give up at their second or third try. You definitely can turn it into an advantage. Good luck!

看到了ls的帖子，真挺厉害的。像这种情况，在准备材料的时候是不是应该写进optional

essay里面呢？

Hey there!  Happy to answer this question.  I went to HBS and knew a number of

people there who had retaken their GMAT a number of times.  And the answer for

you is very good news!  J  Yes, you will be just fine with your 740.  You will

want to write an optional essay (which is quite an art form by the way…) where

you will address this issue.  But you will argue in that essay that you have

demonstrated your determination AND your intellectual abilities.  Even though you

faced three setbacks, you didn’t let fear or extra work keep you from achieving

all you knew you were destined to achieve.  Also, the fact that you have a good

GPA will help as well.  All of this will be captured in your optional essay, and

the schools will give you full credit for your great GMAT score.  

Congratulations!  Top-ten programs are within your reach…
