Essay Questions
Applicants to the W. P. Carey MBA Program are required to complete three essays. Responses to each essay should be no more than two pages using 1.5 line spacing. During the online application process, essays will be uploaded in one document. An essay template is available.

Essay No. 1:
Explain how your past accomplishments have prepared you for the W. P. Carey MBA.

Essay No. 2:
How will the W. P. Carey MBA help you achieve your personal and professional goals? Please reference the specialization you plan to pursue and discuss your career goals after the MBA program.

Essay No. 3:
Please address any weaknesses in your W. P. Carey MBA application or provide additional information that you would like to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee. If you have a future GMAT test date, please include that date in this essay.

Resume & Work Experience
Your employment background is an integral part of your contribution to the W. P. Carey MBA experience. The Admissions Committee will incorporate your resume and work history into the review process.

Resume Details
Your resume must be uploaded during completion of the online application. Resumes should contain no more than two pages and should include:

Job titles and positions held, key responsibilities and accomplishments for each position, and salary history
Honors, awards, certificates, professional organizations, volunteer activities and community involvement
Computer skills, multilingual abilities and overseas travel or work experience
Academic background, including schools attended and degrees earned
Work Experience
At least two years of professional work experience is required for admission to the W. P. Carey MBA Program. Applicants with non-traditional work experience or who had full-time work experience while attending undergraduate studies should provide additional explanation in Essay 3.

Letters of Recommendation
Applicants to the W. P. Carey MBA Program need to secure two letters of recommendation, collected directly from your recommenders. You may wish to provide your recommenders with our optional Letter of Recommendation Form, which outlines the types of information that should be included in the letters. Free-style letters on company stationery are acceptable.

You should forward the letters to the ASU Graduate College in a complete package with all supplemental documents as outlined in the Supplemental Document Cover Sheet.

Sources of Recommendation Letters
Individuals providing letters of recommendation should be able to speak to your personal qualities, career focus and potential for success in the graduate business classroom. They should know you personally and be familiar with your career history, credentials, leadership strengths and professional aspirations. Potential sources for letters of recommendation include:

Supervisors
Colleagues
Business suppliers
Customers
Internship supervisors
Professional organization representatives
Letters of recommendation from family or personal friends are generally inappropriate. Letters from previous academic professors, volunteer site supervisors or organizational advisors are acceptable but should be complemented by a professional recommendation.
