A.  Real similiar is too informal to be right in GMAT. Real is adj.

B. grammatically right, but logically inappropriate.

C. As though initiate a clause,

D. Right answer!

E. Makes sense in casual english, but not GMAT. (Just )As should be followed by a clause.
