I was admitted to study in Marketing PhD (2007 Fall) and I am now in the University of Maryland. I really feel happy to have this site to help me prepare for the PhD application process- both in the GMAT study and the school selection. As a result, if anyone has questions that I can help, I am more than happy to share you with my experience. My background for reference: BS in Management (gpa3.7+ )/ Taiwan; MBA/Taiwan (gpa 3.9+ no publication); w/e 2 years of military service as a platoon leader; toefl cbt/ 270+ ; gmat/ 750+ Admission: University of Maryland / Purdue / City University of New York; Rejection: Many top US business school My Suggestions: (1) a US master/PhD degree is a plus; (2) gmat/toefl is important, but 700 (680?) is enough/ (3)make sure you are familiar with the faculty's research, "match" is a plus; (4) be prepared when a phone interview comes; (5) You never know how Admission Committe evaluate you, so don't give up any chance. |
