记得在xdf上课的时候王少华提过一句”代词优先于主句的主语出现，则此代词优先指代这个主句的主语“。但这里就不是这样。
请问是王少华说的这条结论没有参考价值，还是说这只是一条很弱的effectiveness的参考标准？

这里的it是形式主语，指代to be an expatriate. 按原来的顺序应该是 Long before to be an expatriate was fashionable. 再说这里的it显然不能指代JB,没有歧义．

我的觉得Jacky说的那条规则还是挺有价值的，但是有的时候要先看句子的逻辑意思．
