are可以省略，但they也要同时省略掉，这种情况下就是but连接两个形容词，而不是句子。

如果带着are，那么就是连接句子，句子要有主语，they就不可以省略。

E虽然有点啰嗦，但语法上是不错的。D的although不能这样直接连接形容词，反而是错的。
