derive的用法

在GWD练习题里有这么一道，其中正确答案是

The Achaemenid empire of Persia reached the Indus Valley in the fifth century B.C., bringing with it the Aramaic script, from which derive both the northern and the southern Indian alphabets.

我查看了derive的用法 怎么觉得这里derive如果是主动格式的话就是both the northern and the southern Indian alphabets的谓语了呢?而derive通常的用法是derive A from B, 和 A is derived from B 划线部分中的derive感觉两个都不符合啊。因为如果是第一种用法　则Ａ缺少　请教大家！

Derive 在這是不及物動詞, 也就是源由的意義,

及物動詞是取得, 獲得的意思

 谢谢，但是为什么我总觉得奇怪，如果像你所说实际句子是the script derives

from both the northern and the southern Indian Alphabets，the script 是主语

的话，1、derive就应是单数，而正确句子是复数，2、原句就应该是, which derive

from both.... and ....了，何必把from 提到which前面？
