1. 是在比较两个时间during sleep 和during waking hours
荷尔蒙在人睡觉的时候比在工作时间分泌的多

during sleep in higher concentrations（ 语序不对）than when awake （when后接一个句子），这句是将growth hormone和when awake比较
during sleeping than waking，比较的是growth hormone和waking

这个when引导的状语从句决定后面主句的主语是he，除了A、E其他都不对，E的时态不对-copies，应该用过去时。
copies就是20幅画的副本

when asleep ,when awake 不合语法是因为when 后面只能接句子吗？after ，since，during 后面是不是就可以接名词？
during sleep than during waking hours我怎么感觉也不是很平行的呢？during sleep than during wake是不是更好呢？

wake不是“醒着的时候”的意思，waking hours是固定用法。

after, since 既可做conj.又可以做prep.后面可以跟句子也可以跟名词
during 只做prep.
when  conj.& adv.后面不能只跟一个adj.

应该是be aware that...吧？
be aware that 后面不是必须用虚拟语气。
