e 好像更好些。过去分词修饰wages比定语从句更简洁，employees of the railroad比rail road employees更idiomatical

I think d is better.that clause in d modified the "increase" yet the "requested..." seems to modify the "hourly wages". If I'm wrong, then my understanding about the difference of that clause and preterite is wrong.

BTW: Railroad employees seem good to me
