that will refer to Bor the whole part A OF B (depending on the intended meaning )

if B or A of B could both be modified gramatically and logically correct, it seems that that will refer to B, in the eye of GMAC (just like this problem you raise)


but I think this could only be a preferred rule ,not a hard-and-fast rule
