本来想明白了的，看了manhattang上的解释又不明白了

68. The cottontail rabbit population in Orange County , California, has increased unchecked
in recent years as a result of the removal of the native fox population and the clearing of
surrounding woodlands.

B. years as a result of removing
C. years, resulting from the removing of
D. years, which is result of removing
E. years, which is a result of the removal of

选A
removal是remove的名词形式，单从这一点上A就优于C了
但是manhattan上还讲到了另外一个方面
you can't use 'resulting from' as an adverbial modifier, as is done here. in general, 'resulting from' is
only used as an adjective modifier, almost always without a comma, as in the pollution resulting
from the chemical spill forced all the local residents to evacuate.

请问如果这个resuling from如果在这里作adj modifier，那它就是修饰population的吧，那么即使去掉逗号也应该是不对的了，因为在这里result from的内容应该是说明population  increase的原因的啊。还有，那就是说resulting from这个用法只要用逗号隔开就是不正确的咯？

result的正确用法记住了   

不过关于伴随状语我还有个疑问，我觉得这句话把result from后面去掉了的话

还是一句话啊，只不过是意思不完整了而已：The cottontail rabbit

population in Orange County , California, has increased uncheckedin

recent years.
可是伴随状语不都是起一个补充作用的么，比方说：All night long he lay

awake，thinking of the problem. 去掉后面的thinking of the problem，前

面的一句话也成立啊，只不过是不知道这个人awake在做什么而已。

难道是我对伴随状语的理解有些问题？？
