A series (of debates) (between) the major candidates (were) scheduled for the Labor Day (weekend).

答案是were 错， a series of 的单复数怎么判断？

Our factory has __________________.
a. many fire equipments
b. much fire equipment
c. many fire equipments of fire
d. much fire equipmens

是选b,还是a?

1.a series of后面单/复数都可以，要看题目强调的是整体还是个别的数量
2.b,equipment一般是不可数的，但是也有特殊的情况，比如，如果强调的种类的话，就可数，即指不同种类的时是复数，但是就本题目来说，是单数的。
