那as在做比较时是不是不能单独使用，得在固定搭配中才行？象as...as..; the same..as..

不是吧！as 作比较时是连词，要跟句子。。。
just as ---, ----. 不也没有用as --as 什摸吗？
不知道maryland什摸意思？

因为tongxun说这题不选AS的原因是因为没有平行对象啊。所以问AS是否不可以单独做比较？

B 要正确，必须：1）将逗号去掉。2）在as well as 后加for

1，选D，好像没什么可说的吧，as引导的比较，比较的是for介词短语，连for都给补出来了，多标准。

各位同志，声明一下 1，2的答案都是B，我确定没有抄错题，是PRINCETON的练习题，1题选项前后绝对有逗号，其实我和大家想法一样选D，A。
大家说是不是答案给错了？

I think "for" is not necessary here.

I searched google, found this sentence: Focus on Men as Well as Women. (http://www.jhuccp.org/pr/j43/j43chap4_3.stm)

It is not necessary to say: Focus on Men as well as on Women.

my 2 cents, hehe...

milu,do not forget the comma in the sentence,if there is not a comma after men(for example ,in you sentence),then you are wholly right,but-------
we cannot say :focus on men,as well as women, right?
anyway,do not waste our precious time on such odd questions,friends,maybe the answers are wrong!
