It is unreasonable to incarcerate anyone for any other reason than that he or she is a serious threat to the property or lives of other people.
在这句中的“than” 是什么意思？为什么前面没有比较？
我觉得是不是应该是rather than?

大致的意思明白这是不合理的去囚禁任何因为他对其他的生命和财产有严重的威胁。。。(这是根据上下文推测出来的)
但是 for any other reason than. 到底指的是什么。。不清楚。。

除了他或她严重威胁到了其他人的的财产和生命，没有任何其他的理由

去监禁任何人，这是不合理的。

谢谢我明白了。理解成other than 为以外就行了。。

除了他或她严重威胁到了其他人的的财产和生命，这以外的任何原因来监禁他都是不合理的。

照题目的理解好像也是这样.
