一开始看这题的时候很困惑不知道到底讲什么，仔细分析看到the production of enzymes that are the
organism’s attempt这里发现由于are与enzymes单复数应该that是指代enzymes，但出现了两个问题：1.如果 A of B 中AB都是单数形式，比如 production of enzyme that is the organism's attempt，这里的that到底指代的是什么呢，之前有看which,that指代都可以跳过noun modifier指代，这里可不可以跳过呢？

把句子看完，enzymes that are the organism’s attempt to
metabolize, or render harmless, the chemical irritant
意思是说 酶==>试图分解或化解化学刺激物。
这里attempt是名词，而且是应该将其和【organism's attempt】结合起来

谢谢bat！但是这里我还是理解不能...本人语法不太好..这里 enzymes that are the organism's attempt to do 不是还是个主系表结构A are B吗, 为什么是enzymes试图分解...的意思呢~
还有个问题就是production of enzymes that are如果换成production of enzyme that is会不会有指代歧义？就是A of B that这样的话，that会指代歧义吗~谢谢！
