C.there is now one microcomputer for every thirty-two pupils, four times as many as there were
E.every thirty-two pupils now has one microcomputer, four times as many as
Why c, not E
and if choose see, why use "there were" at the end?

我想主要是要平行，对称。
C中，there is 与 there were 平行，可以用as many as比较
E中，比较的对象前后不一样，或者没有明确说明，不如C的结构清晰。

我想主要是因为平行结构和前后可比性的问题，e选项前后可比性有些问题，
