Tepper provided a great education and I believe it is the primary reason I was able to advance my career. Also, there was very little differentiation between part time and full time, aside from when we took classes. As a part time student I had access to the same professors, same courses and same programs as the full time students.

Some of the classes were short on time with regard the amount of material the instructors wanted to present.

The size of the school was perfect for me. It made networking very easy and the faculty knew me by name. All of the professors were top-notch and experts in their respective fields.

I was able to receive all of the benefits one would expect from a top-tier MBA program without having to quit my job.

As a general rule, there was a wide variety of evening electives available in the fall and spring semesters. In the summer, however, only one group of students in the entire program takes electives: those part-time students in the second-year of the program. So there is a limited offering of electives for that one semester.

Although many of my professors were experts in their respective field and several had won industry recognition for their achievements, all of them were very approachable. The program had a real "family" feel to it due to the small size of the school.

In some classes like options pricing or operations management, I was being taught by some of the brightest and most sought after minds in their fields. In other classes, I could have taught the material better. One problem is that to be on the leading edge of their field, professors have to do a lot of research. They can't do that research if they are teaching a 101 class, which by the way, they all had to do at some point. Most were able to still teach the basics with passion while some were clearly lacking that passion.

One of the bad things about the part time program was that most of the activities were geared towards full time students. So there would be a lot of lunch or 4pm meetings and very few evening or Saturday events. Spreading these events around so that the part time students had a greater chance to participate would have made it better.

They really need to improve on the parking situation. This sounds like a small thing, but it isn't when you're rushing from your job to class and need to be able to park within a mile of your building.

I would definitely choose the Tepper Flex-Time program again. It was very important to me to attend a part time program that included the exact same classes, professors and curricula as the Full Time program, which was delivered as promised. The quality and intensity of education was stunning. Compared with professors at other top business schools, I believe that Tepper professors drill further down into the quantitative and theoretical issues underlying the topics of classroom discussion. By doing so they create a deeper, more granular understanding of the subject matter and provide a stronger foundation for students to pursue their own analysis of matters discussed both inside and outside of the classroom.
作者: s    时间: 2010-9-26 15:44

They need to expand their course selection for the part time students and have more evening speakers. They need to listen more to the part time students' concerns. (We paid more than the full time students with fewer benefits.)

I would recommend the program with reservations. The Tepper MBA Flex Time is not very accommodating to flex-time students who work full-time.

At Tepper I enjoyed the small class sizes and personal touch with the faculty and staff. I thought I gained a lot of insight from classes I took which were both case-based and focused on quantitative methods.
