学校有一个new housing policy change,要求所有的本科生都住在学校里面,原因如下，(1)因为很多大学三、四年级的学生都搬出去住了，空了很多床位，如果要求所有的本科生都住在学校里面的话，就可以增加学校在住房方面的收入；(2)可以使得学生更多地参加学校的一些活动。
女生反对这个政策，(1).如果这样做的话，只会使更少的学生想到这个学校来读书，因为学生们觉得这样会限制他们的选择，所以这样一来学校就不可能增加收入；(2)学生不参加活动，不是因为他们没有住在校内，而是因为学校的活动不太有趣，学校这样做不会带来任何的改变，除非增加投入，想办法使活动更有趣

定义sample error happened when the smaller part of the large group cannot represent the situation of the large group。因为在做统计的时候，total group is too big，所以研究者必须抽取样本来代表整体，但错误的抽样会导致错误的结论。
教授举例，他有个朋友要研究某个湖里鱼的数量，当然他不可能把所有的鱼都抓起来，所以他用了抽样法。于是用net在lake里面网起一定数量的鱼。本来认为网起来的会有大鱼、中鱼、小鱼，却surprised 发现没有网到Small size的鱼，然后判断湖里面没有小鱼。后来发现其实湖里面是有小鱼的，只是网眼大于1cm，所以网不到小鱼，因此网里面没有不代表湖里面没有这就是sample error，也就是没这些样本无法代表全体。

【学生困难】：

女生说她请了一个名人来明天的river clean seminar上做演讲speaker，名人在最后一刻变卦不来cancel。女的必须作另外的安排了。

【解决方案】：

男生给了她两个解决方案。方案1、请一个local cleaner来讲river clean，虽然不出名not well-know，但能share experience。女生说那个人不famous，很多学生会失望。方案2、去图书馆弄名人的videotape在研讨会上放，女生说这样的话，听众不能和名人交流了，而且也听不到live experience.

【问题】：Briefly summarize the problem and two possible solutions. Then state which solution you recommend and explain why.

【讲课要点】：教授说研究发现：mother animal的比non-mother animal的mental ability好，尤其是记忆力。教授举了1个实验：用成熟的female rats，一些是mother rats，一些是non-mother rats让它们在一个迷宫maize里找食物。实验结果：发现在寻找食物的过程中，mother rats找食物比较fast。因为他们的memory improve了，可以记住哪些地方已经找过，不会waste time去重复的地方找。Non-mother rats就没有这么厉害了。结论：mother rats快速找到食物，离窝时间短in short time，可快速回窝喂宝宝、保护宝宝。
