Essay 1： Career goal
1. Why is an MBA a critical next step toward your short- and long-term career goals? Why is Tuck the best MBA program for you? (If you are applying for a joint or dual degree, please explain how the additional degree will contribute to those goals.)
3. What is the greatest challenge or hurdle you have overcome, either personally or professionally, and how did you manage to do so?
Tuck终于放弃那个著名的constructive feedback/criticism 了，改用greatest challenge or hurdle，小小拍手一下~~这样定义其实更为清楚。在这题目里，大家同样要注意下面几个问题
1. 如何定义greatest challenge or hurdle，这里面隐含了一个小问题，why greatest。想要让这点看起来合情合理，适当的铺垫是必要的。很简单一个例子，你说学会了游泳，很大的challenge。我一听，ok，so what？不就是个游泳吗？姐姐我从小就在河里泡大的。但如果你说，我三岁的时候曾经掉进海里差点溺死，然后从此看见水就两眼发晕恨不得撒腿跑到5公里之外，连浴缸都不敢用。wow，那我就要说，impressive，so how did you overcome? 每个人都认为自己的经历特别unique，特别惊天地泣鬼神，可是你永远无法知道你的对手有怎样的故事。所以不要总想如何找偏门，这就是你的故事，它对你最unique，你要做的，是让读者感同身受。
2. either Personally or Professionally，这下大家很清楚了，工作生活都可以，其实比以前好写
3. How did you manage to do so? 这个故事重点在于你如何克服种种障碍到达幸福的彼岸，这也是凸显个性的地方，千万别放过机会。
4. Tuck seeks candidates of various backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to our community. How will your unique personal history, values, and/or life experiences contribute to the culture at Tuck
Tuck是非常重视分享的一个学校，同学之间连面试题都会share，如果你有独特的背景，有独到的见解，有特别的爱好，都可以在这里谈。一个很重要的tip：不要简单的谈你会什么，你经历过什么，要多走一步，说这些experience如何能融入到Tuck的culture和community中去，你的同学如何能benefit from it。最好可以和Tuck 现有的资源结合，也从另一个角度体现你对学校的了解之深，热爱之深。作者: chuju 时间: 2010-7-22 16:07
