8.

The Achaemenid empire of Persia reached the Indus Valley in the fifth century B.C., bringing the Aramaic script with it, from which was derived both northern and southern Indian alphabets.
(A) the Aramaic script with it, from which was derived both northern and
(B) the Aramaic script with it, and from which deriving both the northern and the
(C) with it the Aramaic script, from which derive both the northern and the
(D) with it the Aramaic script, from which derives both northern and
(E) with it the Aramaic script, and deriving from it both the northern and
这个题中C选项中from which derive both the northern and the, both... 正常的是不是应该是both...and...derive from the Aramaic script,请NN讲解。

(A) from which    的 which 指代 it 即 The Achaemenid empire,而从逻辑意思上,which 应该指代script.

像一般不说southern china 而是说south china 或 the southern part of China

首先我觉得A和 B是可以最先排除的,因为对于A来说which应当指代Aramaic script,而不是it。
可以理解的语序应当是the northern and the southern Indian alphabets(注意这里主语是复数形式) derive from which( 这里指Aramaic script)。

我觉得,首先,Which指代the Aramaic script,为避免修饰不清,优选“with it the Aramaic script”结构,
然后,根据逻辑意思,应该是both the northern and the southern India alphabets derive from the Aramaic script,后半部分倒装

A选项的话,which指代it,逻辑意思不对
而且A的结构为derive A from B,A was derived from B,这里A为复数名词,所以应该改为were.

derive:
1 [T] to get something, usually a pleasant feeling, from something or someone。
derive sth from: He derived some comfort from the fact that he wasn't the only one to fail the exam.
2 [I] to develop or come from something else(起源,由。。而来)
[+ from] This word is derived from Latin.
