我理解这句话的意思是这样的：由于M提供了战略临近SG，所以F对M感兴趣，因为F认为如果不保
they assume without it their grip on Algeria would never be secure
assume后面都是assume的内容的从句
without it是条件， 是说如果前面的they（French）without it
their grip on Algeria would never be secure是这个从句的主体
哪里有问题呢?
