其次，their ability 的their 我感觉是指代chimpanzees, 后面的they 是other animals

首先，Gmat里只要是讲 是否 时，基本都是用whether，这是个规律。

另外，这道题是两个不同的句子即：whether如何， 或（or ）whether如何，所以因为平行才用whether的。我认为。所以那个they 是指逗号后面“other animals”的。所以or前才有逗号
