21：A: the sign says this is reserved parking only and your student parking sticker has expired, too.
B: I was just running in to turn in a paper, officer. I haven't been here for more than five minutes.

男: 这个标志派显示这里是预留车位, 你的学生违规停车罚单已经到期了.
女: 我只是进去交论文, 我在这儿还没停到5分钟.

我不明白这个违规停车罚单已经到期和这个学生在这儿停车有什么关系, 难道在美国开了罚单, 就可以在某个地方停一段时间?

请高手指点.

student parking sticker = a permit for parking in campus, here, sticker = permit, so that one can put "sticker" to his/her car easily (put that sticker on window or outside of a car somwhere; just make others see it easily). B got two things wrong. 1. he cannot park his car in "reserved parking area"/ 2) his car's "student parking sticker" has expired. (he needs to renew his "student parking sticker". B might need to pay for renew that"sticker". what B said is trying to tell A that B wasn't real parking there and definitely B doesn't want to get a ticket.
