they不是指代同一堆人吗?是不是改成those in most Western countries会更好?

in japan people are treated with more ....than they are (treated) in other countries.
这are 应该是不能少的吧, 做对比. 嗯, 是一组人.  如果用those are, 就好想不再refer to same group of people le.

E没有问题.整句翻译过来意思是:老人们在日本会比他们在大多数西方国家受到更大的尊重.逻辑上没有问题.

同意LZ,THEY精确指代前边的信息,即指日本的老人在其他国家也受到尊重,逻辑不通,应用THOSE指代同一类的人.语法笔记第2-95题有详细说明.还有OG中美国地震那题
