244. Like their male counterparts, women scientists are above average in terms of intelligence and creativity, but unlike men of science, their female counterparts have had to work against the grain of occupational stereotyping to enter a "man's world."
(A) their female counterparts have had to work
(B) their problem is working
(C) one thing they have had to do is work
(D) the handicap women of science have had is to work
(E) women of science have had to work

why not A? how the construction unlike men of science, their female counterparts violates rules of parallelism and syntax?

因为A选项中的their存在代词指代不清的问题，究竟是指代逗号前men of

science中的man,还是开头第一句话“their male counterparts, women scientists

”中的 scientists ！同一个句子中代词的指代不一致必错。

不同意楼主的意见，og解释中也并没有说their的指代有问题。我个人认为第二个

their指代没有问题，因为在两个分句中，their没有指代不清的问题，a的问题主要

是unlike比较的两部分平行的问题，e要优于a
