首先通过还原倒装主句：

the solvency of some of the world’s largest multinational banks is at stake

然后再还原从句： （should a significant number of these debts be repudiated）

if a significant number of these debts were repudiated.

合起来就是：if a significant number of these debts were repudiated，the solvency of some of the world’s largest multinational banks is at stake。

请问下我这样的理解是不是正确，在这个理解过程中 should a significant number of these debts be repudiated  这个BE动词的还原中，我选择了were而不是are 的原因是因为主句中的BE动词是is, 所以要退一步选择WERE。请问牛牛们我这个思考过程是否正确。到此已经能选出正确答案A。

疑问2， 虚拟语气和条件状语从句到底区别在哪里，特别是条件状语从句和虚拟语气之间的区别， 比如这个句子if you did not stay up too late, you would not feel so tired 。 这句话到底是条件状语从句还是虚拟语气。  此外条件状语从句的时态规则是否使用于虚拟语气，请牛牛们帮帮我吧

                如果是在虚拟语气中，主从句的时态是不是肯定不一样的，我以前看到过的虚拟语气句子，事态的确不一样的。。比如说最简单的：主将从先， 主现从过。。之类。

             但是我今天在看这道题目里面的探讨说居然有人找到时态一样的句子：

                              1) Should you be interested (if you are…),I have a book on the subject you might like to see.
                        2) Should you need any help (=if you need any help), you can always phone me at the office

这个时态居然是一样的，为什么啊，请牛牛们帮帮忙，心焦阿

第一题:其实也不用还原，记住两句话：

在if从句中，如果含有“were，should，had”时，可省去if而将“were，should，had”置于句首，构成倒装句。

should条件从句用动词原型表达虚拟语气，但主语谓语不用虚拟语气形式。

不过lz的还原有点纰漏，不应该还原为were,而是还原为should be，should在if从句里表达将要。

虚拟语气跟条件状语从句有交叉

虚拟语气在状语从句里就是非真实条件句。当然虚拟语气还有在主语，宾语，表语，同位语等地方使用。而条件状语从句分为真是条件状语从句与非真实条件状语从句。

if you did not stay up too late, you would not feel so tired 。

是虚拟语气，表示发生stay up这个动作的时间与说话者说话的时间一致。

虚拟语气中主从句时态不一定不一样，关键是看“叙述的时间与叙述内容里动作的发生时间是不是一致的”。

打个比方：wish that造成的虚拟：

I wish she had been at home when I called. 我真希望我打电话给她的时候她在家。(这里要明白的一点是，过去完成时是对过去的假设)

I wished she were at home when I called. 我曾希望我打电话给她的时候她在家。(过去式是对现在的假设)

选择用过去时还是过去完成时，完全按照wish当时的时间点来定，这与wish用现在时或是过去时无关，只与wish这个动作发生的时间是否同步有关。比wish发生得更早，那就用过去完成时，与wish同时发生，就用一般过去时。

另外，虚拟语气的助动词几乎都是would(第一人称可以用should)，但要表达“也许”时用的是might,要表达“就可以”时要用could

If I were young again, I would go abroad.如果我再年轻一次，我会出国

If he had time, he might come to see us.如果他有时间，他也许会来看我们

If I were handsome, I could work as a model.如果我很帅，我就可以当模特了

对于这两个句子我认为并不规范，楼主能指明出处吗？：

PS：虚拟语气目前为止在GMAT里不是重要考点，以为容易让人产生误解，不过将来怎么变就不清楚了...
