A. speeds 是复数，所以 应该than are

B。  speeds that are much higher  ( n+ that + be + adj结构，罗嗦）

C. as 错！ as much/many as..

D. 我觉得如果用 that, 指代？ 不知道， 具体说不清。。 如果把that 改为those , 后面再加are，变成 than those are 不知道对伐，those 指代 speeds.
