in attributing 如果用在这里，表示的是the perpetrator将action归因于food

allergy, 而这里应该是Defense attorneys将perpetrator的behavior 归因于food

allergy, 原文前半部分也陈述了这样的逻辑attorney argue the client's misconduct

是由于reaction to something ingested, 所以这里不能用in attributing所以只能用

条件状语if

么的这个动作。也就是说分词的主语在逻辑上是不成立的。

还有一种原则,在GMAT中

名介名allergy to some food   优于  名+名 some food allergy

所以正确答案在BC之间

BC之间只能选B更合适,那个惯用法
