1）are a cost to business 的表达没有直接用动词cost来的生动、简洁。
2）最好的选项。
3）significant 是形容词，指前面的事情在后面的事情中发挥的作用大。这个有点改变了句子的意思。另外，the effects 。。。and already costs 肯定改变了原来句子的意思。原来的意思是the effects 已经already cost ，而现在这两个因果关系，被决然分开了。

这个句子中使用compounding表示伴随，很好地表达了句子的意思。

2、likely most 和if not most 在这里表达的意思是不一样的。
likely most：表示的是比较。意思是：就想大多数人一样。
