HIGHLIGHT部分的的意思是“第一篇评论（a fitst review）", 后面的commissioned by the magazine是做定语修饰它的。所以C的整个意思是：


如果当时杂志社被委托的（commission的翻译我不是很确定）第一篇评论具有一个明确的自由主意立场，那么杂志社是否还会去努力获得其他的评论呢？


在2楼的翻译上修改了一下，我认为题目意思应该是：
